Florida’s Keys have great lizards and most of them are green, camouflaging into the equally impressive flora. Here’s a few we spotted hiding in plain sight:

Just for contrast, here is a truly impressive orange one that was just hanging out on the tree above my head….until I finally spotted him!

These are both beautiful and creepy! I’m not sure I could have stood still long enough to capture them.

Yes, that’s pretty much how I feel. They were so quiet and non-aggressive, so it was a bit creepy being around them too…you just didn’t see it sitting there. And then suddenly you’d notice that a 3ft, 50lb creature had been watching you all this time……

I love the green ones! We’ve just got back from southern Mexico and all the iguanas we saw there were boring brown, though I’m told there are blue ones further north.
